Don't miss the Annual Wind Point Village Picnic at Village Green on Sunday, August 12, 2018, 3-7 p.m. For planning purposes with the picnic caterer, please register by Wednesday, August 1.
Registration can be completed online from this page or at the Village Office, 215 E. Four Mile Rd. (cash or check). Admission is $7.00 per adult ages 10+, $3.50 for children ages 4-9 and free for children under 4. The admission price helps cover the cost of food provided by Danny's Meats.
The festivities at this year's picnic include:
- Buffet from Danny's Meats, served between 4:30-5:30 p.m. with hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, beans and watermelon. Water and soft drinks also provided.
- Freshly roasted corn on the cob
- Live music by Steel Doves and Young Strings
- Local craft beer served by Public Craft Brewing Co. (additional charge for beer; age 21+ only)
- Pickleball playing and demonstrations
- Meet a Fire Fighter and Police Officer
- Bounce House and Playground area
- Face-painting and balloon animals
- Cookie baking contest (see below)
Cookie Baking Contest!
Picnic invitees are welcomed to participate in a cookie-baking contest organized by the Wind Point Community Club. Submit an entry containing at least a dozen of your favorite cookie recipe. Cookies must be submitted by 5 p.m. at the picnic. The Village President (or designee) will select their favorite cookie and the winner will receive complimentary tickets to the Wind Point Lighthouse tour climb!
Other Details
Restrooms are on site. In addition to the pavilion area, a large tented area will be provided courtesy of Johnson Bank. Some picnic tables will be provided but it is suggested to bring lawn chairs. The picnic will generally be rain or shine, but in the event of lightning or high winds the event could be delayed or rescheduled.
The Village Picnic is organized by the Village of Wind Point in conjunction with the Wind Point Community Club, a non-profit group that has been promoting social activities in Wind Point since 1923.
